Jaipur: Painted Elephant
Growing up in Botswana, one of my safari memories is of an angry elephant stampeding behind our jeep as we raced away. I think I was six or seven. In India, it's quite common to see an elephant or several (as well as monkeys) walking along the main streets. And it didn't matter how many times I saw them, I was always in awe.
All of these were taken in Jaipur, Rajasthan, where these elephants are decorated and used to carry tourists up and down the roads to the forts.

these photos are amazing!!
Thanks Renée!
Beautiful photographs!
Also, my god that sounds scary! When I was in South Africa we ended up right next to an elephant, and one of the guys we were with insisted on getting in it's face and taking flash-photos. It probably wasn't very safe...
I love the painted elephants!
amazing shots
beautiful images!
Wow - those are extraordinary photographs... I'm amazed! I love the colours and your composition in all of them, there is so much to discover in each and every photograph. My absolute favourite is the first one, the different shades of yellow and brown are wonderful and the way the elephant and his owner emerge from the shade into the light is fabulous. You should frame that and hang it on a wall - I love it!
Wow..those are so amazing and look at those cute painted elephants. They are so adorable. Happy Monday, darling
