Greece: Athens: Fallen
I don't remember the name of this particular historic site, but it was, as all the other ancient architecture in Athens, magnificent. One of the pillars lay there, fallen, in a domino effect, and we wondered when and why it had fallen. But like a lot of ancient history, it's shrouded in mystery.
Dusk was falling, and the light was just perfect for this last day in Athens. Tomorrow, off to Mykonos!

What a fabulous set of images! I love the one where the pillar almost seems to glow with the golden light, the details and textures are amazing. And the silhouette effect in your last shot is just brilliant - Bravo! I wish you a great journey to Mykonos!
we went here, it's the Temple of Olympian Zeus. We were told the fallen columns fell over after a brutal storm, but who knows how true that fact is....:)
Thanks Martina!!
Daisy, thanks for the info - a brutal storm, eh? I wonder!
